“Almost Heaven, West Virginia”

The Roaring Twenties, Friends, Fun and a little bit of snow in the mix and you’ve got yourself a great Winter Rendezvous with the District of Virginia.

Immediately upon our resignation as Region N Directors, what did we do – head off to Disney World?  No, we headed west and up and over the mountains to Charleston WVA for the WVA District Winter Event.  Mike and I have attended all of the WVA winter events, and this year was going to be no different.

To say we had a great time is an understatement, and we want to thank the District and its members for all the fun we had and your hospitality.

We also have to compliment all your guys and gals, cuz they were sure spiffed up in their “Roaring Twenties” garb.  And, having the fashion contest around the pool while at lunch was a super idea.  Everyone was there to enjoy the show and then of course, there was Number 11.  Who can forget her?  I know Mike can’t.  However, I’m still miffed because he gave Lynn Jenkins a million dollar bill to put in her garter, and I have a hard squeezing a $20 out of him.

Closing was special to us as we were given the opportunity to thank the District for their support during our tenure as Region N Directors, but then we got surprised when we were presented with one of the coveted Fenton glass bells.  Thank you so much.

And to top our whole weekend off, we were treated to some snow showers on the way home.  As we didn’t have any snow in Richmond this year, we thought of the snow as another gift from WVA.  But the most special gift of all is something we carry with us always, and that’s the friendship of WVA.

To Buzz and Missy, Bruce and Terri, as well as all of the members of the District of WVA, once more we say thanks and say that we look forward to attending your “Down Home” rally later on this summer.  With hugs and kisses,

Mike and Angie Mitchell
